I'm diddly-wack cuz I'm spirituallll

Hey yallllll!

I've been out of the MTC longer than I've been in it.. weeeeeeird man. I can't lie, I miss it haha.. but I'm lovin' it here in the CALI SAC MISSIOOOOOOOON. One day I'll actually get to Brazil buuuut I'm not worried about it. I'll get there when I need to be there. I feel like my letters have been really lame lately, sorry if I'm boring everyone haha.. No crazy stories... or nothing that I'll admit to while I'm in the field :P Juuuuust kidding. We don't get TOO crazy.

I've hated peanut butter foreverrrr, but since I've been on the mish I seriously have an unhealthy addiction. I can eat it on anything. One of our members introduced me to peanut butter on waffles, and it's fabulous... They don't have peanut butter in Brazil. Of course.

Our ward had a pool party on Tuesday! Obviously we couldn't swim, but we went for food and everything.. classic. Sister McConnell kept trying to throw Sis Hale and I in, buuut we won that battle.. She couldn't get us in, so she took someone's baby out of the pool over and over and just sat her on us or let her drip all over until we were basically SOAKED. Sooo funny, but we were so, sooo wet.

We had exchanges on Wednesday! I was leading the area with Sis Acker and Sis Hale went to East Sac with Sister Loli... I was SO nervous because Hale always leads and knows everyone and talks alllllllll the time, so I felt like it was just being thrown at me.. I thought I was going to bomb it. But we planned our day out the night before and it all turned out SO GOOD. We got to see a bunch of people and added an investigator. It was seriously one of the best days we've had since being in the area. It felt greatttt haha.

We went to this families house... won't freak ya out toooooo bad, but basically a guy was killed in this house and we visited the family that saw it happen, and basically we were freakin out the whole time and we're pretty sure we saw old bloodstains on the wood floor. Creepy creepy creepy. Missionary life. I don't recommend it.... That's a lie.. Missions are the best. DO IT. Builds character.

Our zone isn't fun anymore :( I miss everyone from last transfer!

I don't have time to write everything else ughhhh, but basically I was thinking of before I left and I had posted something about how I was "putting my life on hold" and serving a mission and blah blah blahhh, and I remember one of my awesome leaders trying to make me realize that that definitely WASN'T what was going down. But on the mission I've realized that I've left a lot of things behind and I'm not doing all I did before, but I definitely have NOT put my life on hold. Time is flying faster than ever! I'm so glad to be here and it's soooo good. I know I'm here for a reason. Love love love my mission.

Okay Sis Hale is walking out on me.. GOTTA GO LOVE YOU ALL

Black tag on my chest, like a bulletproof vestttt

Ola!

We're one week into transfer numba TWO! Whaaaat? We have had an AWESOME week. Nothing crazy has happened, but we have been working HARD and stayin' busy. We're having fun, I love my comp! We had to say goodbye to the Zone Leaders and Elder Judd last Tuesday, it was suuuper hard. Our zone isn't the same with out them, we just aren't so close with these new people as we were with the ones who left. It's great though, we're getting to know each other and hopefully we'll be close as a zone again!

We picked up our car on Wednesday and it has been glooooorious. We're still half bike, buuuut biking is a lot less appealing after having a lil time with a car haha.... It's nice. '

We did service at Larry's and we chopped wood.. Well Sister Hale and I watched while Elder Koerper, Wong and Morley chopped wood... ha. Good times. We're trying to figure out how else we can help Larry, but i dunno man. Some people are thinking we should drop him.. We've taught him everything, he's progressing and learning more on his own and he goes to church every sunday.. But he won't commit to a baptismal date. I DON'T WANNA DROP LARRY. We need a miracle, that'd be nice. Yup. I love that guy!

I ate anchovies and quail eggs on Saturday.. the quail eggs weren't bad, but anchovies are actually AWFUL. I don't recommend them at allllll.

I really don't have much else to say this week, lame. I'd looove to hear from yall.. I miss everybody haha. I'm loving it here, absolutely. Buuut I'd love to hear from yall, and family.. Like Chace (my cousin) said, I might actually love and miss my family... All you Utahn aunts and uncles out there, you should write me. Amo voces, tchau tchau!

Com saudades,
Sister Morrill :)

TRANSFER CALLS ARE SAD CALLS

So yesterday we had the dreaded TRAAAANSFER CAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLS. Yep. Transfer calls are the worst. I'm training and I didn't think my visa would be here, so I was expecting to stay in Northridge with Sis Hale.. But still, alllll day long we were freakin out every time we got a phone call.. President decided to change things up regarding who calls/how we receive transfer calls since we're getting so many missionaries.. So after a series of [not so] unfortunate events, we finally got our call from the zone leaders at 8 PM. SUCH. A LONG. DAY. waiting for that stupid call.
Sister Hale and I will be together for another 6 weeks! Haven't gotten a visa yet :) I was a little bummed because it's getting a little harder to keep up with the language, but I LOVE it here and I love my companion. I've been trying to figure out so much these 6 weeks in the field, but I'm coming to realize and understand that our assignments in our area and companion is inspired. There is DEFINITELY a reason Sister Hale and I were put together. I love her and I am learning so much from her, things that I specifically needed to learn. I KNOW how to work. I didn't need to learn how to work, I already do it. But she has helped me learn other things I need to improve on and we are having SO much fun together, so I am P S Y C H E D  to be here for a 2nd transfer. Buuut our zone leaders are leaving us :( Elder Chatterton is going HOME and Elder Hinton is going to South Sacramento :( So we have 2 new ZL's shotgunning the area, which is weird.. but I guess it will be great. We were suuuuper tight with Hinton and Chatterton so the 4 of us are way bummed that they're both leaving. I thought that transfers would be easier than the last day my district had together at the MTC, but NOPE NOPE NOPE. It's just as hard. We're all close. Saying goodbye still sucks, even if it's just for another area in the mission.

Oh PS, since we have transfers tomorrow our PDAY is switched to Tuesday instead of our normal Monday... I didn't forget to write yall, we're just emailing a day later ;)

President told us we are getting a CAR! I don't know when or how, but it's happening! I am alllllmost a little bummed, I legitimately love being on bikes.. But I'm sure we will be able to accomplish more for our area overall with a car, we'll see how it goes!

Oh oh! The Zimmerman family came to visit us this week! I LOVED IT. It's so great to see friends here. It was awesome to catch up a little bit!

Remember I was talking about laser tag last week? Yeah. It was fabulous. I lost SO HARD. But it was awesome. Elder Hinton and Elder Koerper kicked. my. trash.

'We had dinner with a family in the ward on Sunday.. They had hot wings. Sis Hale and I, being from the south or what not, ate them NO PROBLEMS... They had 2 fully grown boys AND their dad there, who all tried one bite of a wing and proceeded to sweat and cry. Californians are wimps. It was so funny though, they got showed up by a couple little sister missionaries.. Fabulous.

Alright, I'm changin it up and getting serious on yall.
I love being a missionary so much. It's such an amazing experience. It's funny how your perspective changes as a missionary. Members think that missionaries are just perfect human beings... and well, we work hard, but we are not. Not even close. We're some 19-to-Twenty-Something year olds who have faith in Christ and know that the gospel can change people's lives. I feel like we don't really know what we're doing sometimes, but we keep working and somehow the Lord just makes things come together. I am so thankful for my Savior. Over the past year I've come to completely depend on Him. He is my rock and my Redeemer. I know that as we come unto Christ, and exercise our faith in Him that He will comfort us, He will strengthen us, and ultimately, He will make us whole. I have gained such a strong testimony in Him and I am so thankful for the Lord's hand in my life. I am here because I know that that relationship with Christ can absolutely change lives. Through this gospel, we have the opportunity to live with our families not only on earth, but for the eternities.

I love Elder Bruce R McConkie's Missionary Commision... I am called of God. My authority is above that of the kings of the earth.. My job is to do what He wants done. To say what He wants said. To say and do what He himself would say and do if He personally were ministering to the very people to which I have been called. My words are His words, and my acts are His acts; My ways are His ways, and my doctrine is His doctrine... How great is my calling?

I don't have it completely memorized, but that's the gist of it. I have a divine and wonderful calling, and I love it so much. I love this gospel. I love my calling. I love this area, and I love the Lord. I'm so thankful to be serving in the California Sacramento mission right now. I love it.

I love yall, fique suave :)

Com amor,
Sister Morrill

Semana 6!

I am out of time for email! This will be short, sorry!

This week hasn't been TOO crazy. Except one of our investigators, Annie, fell off a 4 foot wall last week and broke an arm and a leg, and fractured some ribs. She's like 80 something, and she had to have surgery for the breaks... She's not feeling great, but she's as feisty as ever. I love her. We went to visit her at the hospital for a quick visit, and it turned into a 2 hour stay.. She likes to TALK. Then we visited her the next day and stayed for another hour, and gave her a Book of Mormon to read while she was down... Heck, she wanted reading material, so we gave her reading material! She was excited about it soooo that's nice hahaha.

President visited us at District meeting, he showed us part of Utchdorf's talk "The Merciful Receive Mercy", and talked about it and told us to "STOP IT".. There's been some drama in the zone and President was kinda done with their crap, basically. GO PRESIDENT, I WAS TIRED OF IT TOO. Good times, good times.

We did service for Larry twice this week, we cleaned his pool, then on Saturday we helped him with all kinds of stuff in the yard, we cleaned his carpet, and made this huge thing to keep over his pool.. We were there for hourrrrrrs. It was great and completely exhausting.

Um on Friday a member took us out for frozen yogurt, she's a little crazy. I can't lie, I kind of thought she was going to take us to the river and shoot us. That's all I'm gonna say about that. On the bright side, we have not been shot and the Fro-Yo was delicious.

Sunday was Fast Sunday/Testimony meeting, and we had some funny stuff happening through the day. In the middle of testimony meeting this cute little girl goes up to the stand and this was her testimony.. "I like Heavenly Father because he blesses his little children.. um, one day I got to go with my aunt Jocelyn .. We shopped. Then we went to Jamba Juice with my aunt Jocelyn. We went to the coast and we saw a jellyfish. We tried to save the jellyfish, and it went on the shore and we said "eh never mind"....Amen!"
Sister Hale and I were cracking upppp. She was adorable.

Wellllllll it's go time. Thanks for everyone who's sent me mail, I LOVE it! Keep it coming ;)

Okay We're going to play laser tag with the zone... PEACE OUT

Love Sister Morrill
